Life with Sugar and Friends

My Best Friend. My ray of Sunshine. My therapist. My hope for a better day. My Church. My aromatherapy. My relief when my soul is heavy. My escape from the weight of this world. My teacher. My mentor. My amazing Beautiful Brook.
A day never goes by when Miss Sugar doesn’t make us smile:)
Small town kids have big hearts with small town values. Small town kids will forever be loyal to their family, roots, and friends. Small town kids keep their feet planted firmly wherever they may end up.
Days with Sugar are always adventurous………
I have always loved horses. Then life happened. College. Kids. Bills. Jobs. I am not a professional. I am not a perfect rider. I am not 100% sure I know what I am doing most of the time. But I try. And I try because a horse is the most spiritual animal that you will ever connect with. They will teach more about yourself than you can ever learn on your own.

Sugar has been really enjoying her time with the other horses. Sage has been with us a week and Sugar is his new best friend.
Hey Hey. Yes he was named by the five year old.
Sally the Sheep. Helping water the plants.
Sugar got to go home with Brook to live with the big horses. She is soooooooooooo happy! She sure does love having her equine companionship.
We lost our beautiful Jiggs this week. Not nearly enough time spent with this girl. Some may think, it’s just a horse. And it’s those that will never understand. A horse teaches you everything you need to know about yourself. When you looked her in the eyes, you could immediately see her beautiful soul. She was young and full of energy but still had that spiritually soothing aura. She was magnificent. My heart broke a little that day.
The hardest part of 4-H is saying goodbye. I try to educate my children on where these animals will go because I feel they need to know the truth. They need to know that we nourish and care for these animals because they will nourish and care for us. I myself get a little misty eyed when these incredible animals have fulfilled there destiny.
Sugar has been enjoying summer. She has been living with Brook and has become inseparable to her. This fall she will be moving to the horse pasture at my dad’s ranch because that is where she will be the happiest.
Patiently awaiting Spring!
Calving season is always so amazing to watch.
Couple more weeks and we will be welcoming more pigs to our happy little acres. This is Babe, one of my son’s 4H projects last year.
It’s March! And Sugar is ready for Spring and to put all this snow in the past.

Goose Goose……My son found him in a field he was moving irrigation pipe on, he ended up having some sort of defect in his wings and can’t fly, so he thinks he’s a chicken now:)
